Once the compressed sponges are removed from the packaging, they may take up to 72 hours to restore to their original approximate size in temperatures above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If stored in cooler temperatures, the restoration process may be slower.
However, if you need to use the sponge immediately, you can speed up the process by submerging it in water. Within minutes, the sponge will restore to its original approximate size.
We highly recommend removing all grout sponges from their packaging upon receipt of your order, so that air can naturally restore their original size. For storage, the sponges can be kept in large drums or garbage bags with one end open to allow for proper air circulation.
